Materials to be recycled can either be brought to our drop boxes at our Collection Center at 100 24th St [map], dropped off at our trailer bins at Fire Station #3 at 13th and Liberty Streets in North Parkersburg [map] or Fire Station #5 on Blizzard Drive in South Parkersburg [map], or picked up from the curbside of city residences.

Our collection center drop-off boxes and two trailer bins are conveniently available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Curbside pick-up of recyclables is available to
Parkersburg residents who are scheduled for weekly curbside trash collection. The
schedules for trash and recycling pick-up are the same.

While Parkersburg Recycling does take all residential waste
placed at the curb, please keep in mind:

  • If the container is larger than 30 gal., the refuse must be bagged.
  • The container or bag should not weigh more than 75 lbs.
  • Brush and carpet should be bundled and not more than four feet long.
  • Sharp objects should be disposed of in an approved container.
  • Sharps should be disposed of in an approved container.
  • Parkersburg Recycling cannot take car batteries, motor oil, or wet paint.
  • A maximum of 10 tires per year per household can be brought to the
    recycling center with proper ID and proof of payment of sanitation bill.
